WALNUT FOOD BANK
The Walnut Valley Food Bank is no longer providing services to our local community. After 25 years of distributing nonperishables and other needed items, the Food Bank closed its doors on August 1, 2014. The City of Walnut greatly appreciates the dedicated individuals who made this service possible for residents and is saddened by the closure of this valuable resource.
For alternative food bank resources, please contact LA County by dialing 211.
CALLING ON ALL UNITED STATES MILITARY VETERANS LIVING IN WALNUT!
The City of Walnut would like to pay tribute and recognize military veterans that live in the City. Currently, we pay tribute to active military personnel via our "Support the Troops" Program, however, we would like to extend our appreciation to those that have served in years prior by featuring them on WCTV Channel 3 (Charter subscribers) and Channel 21 (Verizon subscribers). Please contact City Hall at (909) 595-7543 if you are a veteran.
The City recognizes residents who have made a contribution to the community in several ways. Citizens may be recognized at City Council meetings with a proclamation or commendation by the City Council. Citizens and community organizations are honored for a variety of contributions and accomplishments. Citizens who have made a significant impact on the community may also be remembered by the naming of a street or facility in their memory. The City has an application process for the naming of facilities and streets which is subject to review by the City Council. To pick up an application or to request a commendation from the City Council, please contact the City Clerk at (909) 595-7543.
The City has a program that ensures our Nation’s flag flies over Walnut on all patriotic holidays. The American flag program is supported by the City and donations from residents. If you would like to make sure the American flag program continues, you can donate $20 to the City’s programs. A donation may be made by contacting City Hall at (909) 595-7543.
