The City of Walnut and the volunteer Festival Committee invite you to join us as we celebrate all that makes Walnut special! 

The Festival highlights include a Community IMG_3281IMG_3287Parade, Live Entertainment, Kid’s Fun Zone (with rides, games, petting zoo, kiddy train ride, and other attractions), Food Booths, Arts & Crafts vendors as well as a variety of service clubs, youth organizations, businesses, and environmental services.

Festival Road Closures

  • Due to the Opening Procession, there will be road closures on Gartel between Marcon Ave. and La Puente Rd.  from approximately 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  Benik Place will also be closed at Gartel from approximately 8:30 am to 10:30 am
  • Due to the Festival, Suzanne Rd. will be closed between Marcon Ave. and Fuerte Dr. from 3:00 pm on Friday, October 12 through approx. 11:00 pm Saturday, October 13.

All applications will be accepted at the Walnut Maintenance Department & Recreation Services Office located at 21701 Valley Blvd. Office hours are 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday (closed Fridays). You may submit your application by:

  • Dropping it off in person during the office location/hours listed above
  • Mailing it to The Walnut Family Festival P.O. Box 682, Walnut CA 91788-0682


Food Booths
are eligible to apply for a Food Booth. Festival 1Please Note: Completed Food Booth Applications must include all required LA County Health Department Forms, including 1) proof of original IRS tax status granting, 2) proof of current IRS Non-Profit status, and 3) copies of entities Articles of Incorporation.  A complete application packet (packets for the 2019 Festival will be available in February of 2019).

2018 Opening Procession Information:  Click here for an application (no fee, but pre-registration required)
The Walnut Family Festival Volunteer Committee is pleased to invite your organization to participate in the Festival Opening Procession for the 42nd Annual Family Festival. This procession will feature:
• Community Heroes (nominated by local service organizations, community clubs and churches)
• Local schools bands
• Youth service groups
• Youth sport groups
• Elected officials
• Local and Public Agency representatives.

Opening Procession participants will join the Walnut City Council and Commissioners for the Festival Opening Ceremonies at the Main Stage. Please note this is a pedestrian only parade that will take place on paved streets (with some steep grades) as well as on grass with some uneven surfaces.

Local community service organizations, churches and school clubs are asked to select their personal “Volunteer Hero of the Year.” These individuals will be asked to walk with other members of their organization or club in the procession to Festival Main Stage, where they will be presented with a City of Walnut certificate and pin.

The Opening Procession will begin at 9:00 am. Please see the application above for more information and a map with the staging location, parade “route” and parking locations. The City will provide your group or agency with a sign announcing your organization. You are welcome to bring additional banners, signs, or other visuals such as flags, balloons, coordinated clothing/uniforms/costumes, rally monkeys - use your imagination!
